Good Morning, Class of ‘64
Late Winter Snow - John Morrow

The Birds

William Blake

Where thou dwellest, in what grove,
Tell me Fair One, tell me Love;
Where thou thy charming nest dost build,
O thou pride of every field!

Yonder stands a lonely tree,
There I live and mourn for thee;
Morning drinks my silent tear,
And evening winds my sorrow bear.

O thou summer's harmony,
I have liv'd and mourn'd for thee;
Each day I mourn along the wood,
And night hath heard my sorrows loud.

Dost thou truly long for me?
And am I thus sweet to thee?
Sorrow now is at an end,
O my Lover and my Friend!

Come, on wings of joy we'll fly
To where my bower hangs on high;
Come, and make thy calm retreat
Among green leaves and blossoms sweet.

By the calendar the date is a few days ahead, but there was a springy chirp in the birds this morning. Cheeping of nest building and fledging little tweets to soar far from home and family to feather their own nests in some other tree or on some other ledge. Just like us, in those long ago years, that we look back to, now, in memory. We raised our own little tweets, and they have raised their own little tweets, and they in turn will raise their own little tweets. And so it goes.

Love and Marriage
Frank Sinatra's version was more popular, at the time, but a competing version by Dinah Shore also achieved popularity.
Dinah Shore - Love and Marriage - 1956

Chapel of Love
In 1964, spent three weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100
Chapel of Love - The Dixie Cups -1964

The Three Bells - Little Jimmy Brown
Reached number one on the U.S. country and pop charts,
Number ten on the Hot R&B Sides chart
 Little Jimmy Brown - The Browns - 1959
 The story behind the song:
Birth: So his parents brought him to the chapel
when he was only one day
old. The Priest blessed the little fellow,
welcome Jimmy to the fold.
Marriage: Many friends were gathered in the chapel
and many tears of joy were shed.
In June, on a Sunday morning,
when Jimmy and his
bride were wed.
Death: Many people gathered in the chapel
to say goodbye to their old friend,
whose life had been like a flower,
budding-blooming, till THE END.

People live like birds in the woods: When the time comes, each must take flight.
