DAY 170 - COUNTING DOWN TO THE 50TH

GOOD AFTERNOON, CLASS OF '64
It was an early, out-and-about morning. At that daybreak hour, a drizzle was wetting the old snow and asphalt. Mounds of snow were still being pushed around at the mall and heaped into larger, dirtier piles. Without wheels, now, until late this evening or tomorrow, Roku will be a good companion, along with needle and thread.
Needle in, needle out, needle in, needle out then give a tug. A few more times of the needle in motion, and the afternoon will be all sewed up. (ever wonder how "sew" came to be pronounced as "so"?)

 Idiom: Poetry in motion
Something that is beautiful to watch.

Poetry in Motion (song)
Imagine two guys watching out a window as a group of school girls pass by every afternoon, and you know the inspiration for this song.

POETRY IN MOTION ~ Johnny Tillotson 1960

Needles and Pins (song)
Jackie DeShannon recorded Needles and Pins in 1963. It did well in Canada but not in the United States. Released by The Searchers in January of 1964 , it reached #13 on The Billboard Hot 100 Singles. A faulty base drum pedal, which is particularly noticeable at the beginning, squeaks throughout the recording.
